  1.  ABOUT COREL PHOTOCD LAB

  4.  The Corel PhotoCD Lab is a utility that lets you view Kodak
  5.  PhotoCD images and convert them to other formats.
  6.  
  7.  Compressed Kodak PhotoCD images require 4.5 MB of memory.
  8.  Using Corel PhotoCD Lab, you can convert these
  9.  large files to formats that require less memory and that you 
  10.  can use with many graphics applications.
  11.  
  12.  You can convert Kodak PhotoCD images to four formats and 
  13.  specify the image resolution, colours, and rotation. The four
  14.  available formats are:
  15.  
  16.     - BMP
  17.     - EPS
  18.     - PCX
  19.     - TIF

  22.  INSTALLING COREL PHOTOCD LAB

  25.  The installation automatically puts the Corel PhotoCD Lab files in 
  26.  your Windows directory. These files are
  27.  
  28.     - COMMDLG.DLL
  29.     - PCDLIB.DLL
  30.     - PCDXBMP.DLL
  31.     - PCDXEPS.DLL
  32.     - PCDXPCX.DLL
  33.     - PCDXTIF.DLL

  35.  Do not move these files from your Windows directory.

  37.  By default, the installation puts the PCDSCSI.EXE program into 
  38.  the CORELDRV/SCSIUTIL directory.

  41.  USING THE COREL PHOTOCD LAB WINDOW
  42.  ----------------------------------

  44.  You load, modify, select, and view images using the Corel PhotoCD 
  45.  Lab window. To open this window, double-click the Corel PhotoCD 
  46.  Lab icon.

  48.  The Corel PhotoCD Lab window contains four menus that you use to 
  49.  work with images and an area that displays your images.

  52.  LOADING AN IMAGE INTO COREL PHOTOCD LAB

  55.  You can load an image from any device into Corel PhotoCD Lab without 
  56.  using overlays (thumbprints).

  60.  1. Select the Open option of the File menu. 
  61.  
  62.  2. Select the name of the file you want to load. Use the Drives and 
  63.     Directories selection boxes to access the file.

  65.  3. Select the OK button.

  68.  MODIFYING IMAGE ATTRIBUTES

  71.  The Image menu contains options for modifying the colour, size, 
  72.  and rotation of the image displayed in the Corel PhotoCD Lab window.

  74.  To specify the colour options for the image, select a colour option 
  75.  from the Colour sub-menu of the Image menu.

  77.  To change the size of an image, select a size option from the Size 
  78.  sub-menu of the Image menu.

  80.  To rotate an image, select a Rotate option from the View sub-menu 
  81.  of the Image menu.

  83.  To mirror an image, select the Mirror option from the View sub-menu 
  84.  of the Image menu.

  86.  Note: The Mirror and Rotate options are non-incremental. For example, 
  87.  select the Rotate 180 option to rotate your image 180 degrees. You
  88.  can't select the Rotate 90 option twice to achieve a 180 degree 
  89.  rotation.

  91.  To return a mirrored or rotated image to its original perspective, 
  92.  select the Restore option from the View sub-menu of the Image menu.

  95.  CONVERTING IMAGE FORMATS

  98.  The Convert menu lets you convert one or more images according to 
  99.  your specifications and select a destination for the converted images.

  101.  To convert one or more images

  103.  1. Select the Setup option from the Convert menu.
  104.  
  105.  2. Choose the format, colours, resolution, and rotation that you want 
  106.     to apply.
  107.  
  108.  3. Enter the full path of the destination for the converted files.
  109.  
  110.  4. Select the names of the files you want to convert. Use the Drives 
  111.     and Directories selection boxes to access your files.
  112.  
  113.     To select consecutive file names, click the first name in the 
  114.     list and drag your mouse. To select non-consecutive file names, 
  115.     press the CTRL key and click the file name at the same time.

  117.  5. Select the OK button.

  119. To stop the conversion, press any key.

  122.  CREATING A SLIDE SHOW 
  123.  ---------------------

  125.  The Slide_Show menu lets you select one or more files and display 
  126.  images one at a time on your screen.  You can choose whether you 
  127.  want images displayed continuously or only once. You can also 
  128.  specify a delay to indicate the length of time that you want 
  129.  each image displayed on the screen.

  131.  To create a slide show
  132.  
  133.  1. Select the Setup option from the Slide_Show menu.
  134.  
  135.  2. Specify the loop and delay options. The default delay value is 
  136.     10 seconds. You may define delays of 0 seconds to 10 minutes
  137.     by entering values from 0 to 600.

  139.  3. Select the names of the files you want to convert. Use the Drives 
  140.     and Directories selection boxes to access your files.
  141.  
  142.     To select consecutive file names, click the first name in the list 
  143.     and drag your mouse. To select non-consecutive file names, press 
  144.     the CTRL key and click the file name at the same time.
